The Origins
It all began in 1898 with Great-Great-Grandfather Fortunato Giulianelli, who had the foresight to open one of the first "osterias" within the Republic of San Marino. You could find everything there—from food to drinks—all strictly handmade. In 1932, with the arrival of the train connecting Rimini to San Marino, a path of growth began. This was carried on by Great-Grandfather Giuseppe Giulianelli and Great-Grandmother Gilda, who continued the family’s trattoria tradition. In 1946, after World War II, life returned to the trattoria, and the «balera» was born—a lively place where people danced, ate, drank, and, most of all, enjoyed each other’s company.
The Passion for Wine
In 1955 began the real journey in search of quality products around the world. Giuseppe Sr. started bottling the wine made from grapes grown around the family’s land—grapes that are still lovingly preserved in their cellar today. In 1960, with the arrival of Grandfather Gian Fortunato and Grandmother Enza, a new era of specialization in rare liquors and worldwide spirits began. Since 1983, Giuseppe, his wife Angela, and their sons Gianluca and Gabriele have embarked on a journey of ultra-specialization in liquors, spirits, and wines offered by both Italy and the world.
